Claudia has been with us for just over a year now! She takes full advantage of her membership by participating in our yoga, running and Fit Camp offerings. She is always a joy to have in class and a tough worker! We've yet to see her sweat but know she's working hard because of the results she's seen.
What made you want to join fit camp?- I was beginning to feel that my shape was a bit “matronly” and I wanted to lose that extra cushion around my hips and stomach. And that goal has been achieved!
What is your favorite thing about the program?- I like routine and accountability, so going someplace three times a week and seeing tangible results is perfect for me. I have also met amazing young professional, strong women and that makes me happy.
What results have you loved the most?- I love glancing down and seeing a much flatter tummy; I loved having to go buy new clothes two sizes smaller; I love being able to run again because of stronger knees; and I absolutely feel such pride in the difference in my cholesterol level because of smart food choices and weight loss.
What is your main motivation for staying fit?- I am motivated to be strong and fit so that I can be very active as I age. Retirement will be more fun if my husband and I can go and do.
How do you spend your free time?- I suspect that most people know by now that my free time is devoted to my two Pembroke Welsh Corgi DOGS. It’s all about dog training and dog sports competition. Sometimes I run and row, too. And I like to hang out with Catharine Brierre; she’s such a sweetie.
What do you love about Tulsa?- Tulsa is a small town with a big heart.
Favorite book?- “To Kill A Mockingbird” is a book I can read over and over. The book and the movie are so intertwined for me that I can hear all the characters speak the narrative as I read it. Especially Gregory Peck!
Favorite place you've visited?- My very favorite place on earth is Yellowstone National Park. I would drop everything to head there. The vistas are awe-inspiring and I never get tired of visiting.
We are so proud of your hard work over the past year Claudia! It also makes us very happy that your hard work has paid off (not surprisingly!) and that your motivation goes deeper than just appearance. Being fit and strong is important so that you can look your best, but also so you can enjoy activities like hiking or dog herding for your whole life!
Our next round of Fit Camp starts June 5. It is a 12 week program focused on strength training circuits. We will offer 7am, 9am, 12:30 and 4:45pm classes. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
